Escapism has a focus on constant improvement and this has lead Steal The Crown back to a 60 minute time limit

Steal The Crown was introduced in our usual 60-minute format, but we were quick to notice that it was a much more challenging mission than we expected. On the other hand, we were getting great reviews and post-game feedback, with one team saying, "Don't change anything!" after loving the overall room design, unique puzzles and high level of difficulty. So we shifted the room to a 90 minute time limit... but as we saw how people wanted to play the game, we continued to make minor adjustments to improve gameplay and that lead to more people finishing within the original 60 minutes, so we've made hopefully some of the final game adjustments and drop the time to make it a solid challenge.

The Story

Your team plays a crew of professional thieves. For some of you, this is the last job. A sweet prize awaits - one that could finally let you walk away from it all and disappear to a beach somewhere in Southeast Asia.

The plan? Solid. The intel? Tight. And you’ve got Sam, your trusted hacker on the outside, feeding you updates and keeping security systems at bay. Sam will help you with any aspect of the job - just ask for intel, and he’ll do his best to keep you moving.

The target: a renowned photographer’s private studio. While she and her ultra-wealthy client are out on a location shoot, your window opens - 60 minutes. The crown they were photographing? An ornate, jewel-encrusted masterpiece. And it’s now locked somewhere in the studio.

You don’t know where. Yet.

But the cameras are disabled. The clock is ticking.

Time to work.

What makes this one different?

Every room that Escapism builds is created with a purpose - to showcase an interesting theme or offer unique gameplay. Steal The Crown is a very, very difficult room to complete. It’s built with greater complexity but includes an extra team member available to assist with understanding what you need to do.

Just like any good crime movie, as you begin your heist you talk to your man on the outside. He has resources you don’t, and he can see things you can’t - so Sam is vital to helping you complete the room in time.

This is also our first 90-minute escape room.

Are you ready for the challenge?
